Kids in a New Groove, the Austin based non-profit that provides free, weekly mentorship through music education to central Texas youth in foster care, is hosting the fourth annual Music Matters Luncheon at the Hotel Van Zandt on Monday, November 14th. As a former child in foster care, national motivational speaker Derek Clark will speak to the power of music from a very personal perspective. According to Executive Director Laura Wood, “The Music Matters Luncheon presents an opportunity for guests to understand, in depth, the powerful and positive impact music has on all of us, especially Central Texas’ youth in foster care.” For more information on Derek, please visit

The Music Matters Luncheon also serves as the kick off to the 2017 KING Concert Club with the announcement of the 2017 artist lineup. The KING Concert Club, having sold-out each year prior, aims to bring new supporters to Kids in a New Groove by providing one-of-a-kind performances by renowned Texas artists. Previous artists for the KING Concert Club include Shakey Graves, Max Frost, Ruby Jane, Wild Child, The Octopus Project and more. The KING Concert Club provides funding for Kids in a New Groove and its mission to impact the lives of youth in foster care through consistent, weekly music mentorship, teaching youth how to set and achieve goals and develop tools to help them develop into successful individuals.
