The South Central Waterfront Initiative will establish a vision and provide a cohesive set of recommendations to guide public and private development over the next 20-plus years. The goal is to ensure that, as this area inevitably changes, every increment of change will contribute to making a great new district that:

  • Establish a lively, attractive pedestrian environment.
  • Expand open space and create great public spaces.
  • Enhance connections to and along the waterfront.
  • Include 10-20% new housing units as affordable.
Join ULI Austin for a sneak peek at the density recommendation that Abe Farkas will be making to the Austin City Council in June.

Speakers:
Abe Farkas, Director of Development Services, ECONorthwest
Alan Holt, Principal Planner, Urban Design Division | City of Austin Planning & Zoning Department
Margaret Robinson, Principal, Asakura Robinson
